Potential and Used Locations

These are all the images of the potential locations we could have used, some you may notice were in the music video as some of these locations we incorporated in our music video. Our ideal location is somewhere with space and a clear background, we didn't want a busy background as it would have interfered with the connotations. Somewhere with good lighting a nd a wide space/platform would have been ideal. Josh and i screened through these images and chosen certain places which best suited our music video.

Streatham Hill/Manager

When we were close to finishing the filming we were approached by the station manager and he explained to us that it was prohibited to film on public transport without permission.

This was a easily avoidable situation. i asked him whether we can continue filming today as we were almost finished, and he replied saying it was okay to continue for today but next time we would have to ask permission.
He told us the reason for this is safety, we had to film from many different angles and the manager was worried that we might inadvertently fall into the tracks.
But this was one of many minor issues we faced but we managed to overcome it.

Streatham Hill/Dance scene

This is one of our many locations, we chose to do the dancing scene with our actress in Streatham Hill.
Streatham Hill Station was my idea because i thought that although it was dark the lighting surrounding us was sufficient enough to keep the
actor and actress visible.
I chose to do the scene during the night because i knew that they would be little interruptions from passing people and frequent passing trains, however we did have to stop occasionally for trains. But they did not come as frequently as thought.

Rehersal Process

This is our first real rehearsal, we done this in the main hall in our school. The reason we chose this place was because of the blank white background, and we thought that it would be a good place to dance because of the basic scenery and big stage.
It lasted quite some time but we have chosen other places but this place is our first chosen location and parts from this dance scene will be incorporated.
The dance was mainly freestyle, some parts were already choreographed but the majority of what was filmed is all from improvisation. Improvisation allowed Josh to practice new moves and give the effect of something real and not being pre-planned which is a good concept in r&b songs and their videos.
